A quiet post-funeral weekend. Writing, reading, shopping, cleaning and cycling. In some sort of bizarre metaphysical coincidence, Rob and I both finished our novels today. Writing them, that is, not reading them. Nearby on the Princes Highway some sort of charity truck rally was taking place, meaning horns were honking and blaring with gay abandon. So we ditched our laptops and went off to the Gala cinema at Warrawong to see the new Harry Potter. The place was packed with kids which is probably how it should be. I liked the movie well enough, although there was a little too much sitting around in forests doing nothing for my liking.

Sitting around in forests doing nothing is pretty representative of the book. I don’t think they’ve done too bad a job of filming this rather unnecessarily complicated last book, so far at least.
I’ve read the book. Reckon those forest scenes were padding, necessary when 2 blockbusters were carved from one novel.
Had a good dance number though.
true!
Cycling? Since when?
Half this year. I go along the Wollongong to Thirroul bike track on Sundays with my friend Suellen
Wow. Actual exercise. I wodered what it looked like.
Me, I have to get my lazy butt our of bed and to the gym.
I do gym circuit 3 times a week too
I’m exhausted readig this. Exercise takes up glass makig time.
sadly, I have no genuine hobbies these days unless making cards counts. Not that I do much of that.
HP7 was once described to me as Harry Potter And The Interminable Emo Camping. Which is exactly what it is. That whole book is padding really, probably because she was desperate to make it thicker than previous volumes, when it would have been far better if it was tighter and a lot shorter. Then they made two films from it! Money grabbers.
Emo camping it was. And I hate camping at the best of times. But the actors were good and I’ll buy the fucking DVD anyway…
Yep. And for all my whining, I’ll go and watch the bastard too.
