Loved it, loved it, loved it! Yes they took liberties with Conan Doyle’s original material, but they were pleasing liberties and the whole experience was true to form. Highly recommended.
that Dan Brown movie
In a fit of writing procrastination, we went to see Angels and Demons this afternoon and I’m quite surprised to say that we both liked it. By all accounts its a stupid book but the film kept me amused for 2+ hours. And maybe I’m dumb but I didn’t guess the ending. Yeah, its full of convenient coincidences but no more than any other Hollywood screenplay. A worthy way to spend an afternoon.

Not too bad if you like that sort of thing. Kinda Escape From New York meets Children of Men. I’ve missed most of Vin Diesel’s career, although it started well with Pitch Black and I didn’t mind Riddick either. The trailers for his other films have struck me as being aimed at tattooed teenage wog boys with guns and muscle cars. But yeah, this one was OK, and a shitload better than that dumb Hasselhoff snake movie.

We finally caught up with the 2008 version of The Incredible Hulk on Blu-ray last night. I thought it was pretty damn good, actually. They didn’t bother with the origin story as they know we all know it already. A thinking person’s comic strip adaptation methinks.Max Payne, on the other hand, was a sack of shit. Is Mark Wahlberg the most uncharasmatic leading man of our time? Yes, I think he just might be.
