sick!

Rob and I are both a bit poorly this week. I think it’s probably the zombie flu as Rob’s symptoms really started to kick in after he interviewed George Romero in Melbourne last Sunday. I’m shuffling about in my pyjamas with my glowing red zombie nose… bleh. But the good news is we have wood for the pot belly stove tonight!
Just watched City of Death, an old Tom Baker Dr Who featuring Bond villain Julian Glover and script edited by Douglas Adams. A doco on the deev featured, amongst other interesting people, the lovely

. It reminded me that I have this cute photo of me and my friend Alison meeting Adams back in the late 90s.

  1. Douglas Adams agreed to be a Guest of Honour at Swancon once. Then he forgot to arrange flights with us, went on a long world tour (to promote Starship Titanic, from memory) and wasn’t contactable and in the end it was too late to work it out.

    *This* close. : (

    • bummer dude. I was lucky enough to meet and photograph him 3 times over the years. The first time was before he was a big name, a smallish book signing event in Galaxy, Sydney. I must dig those photos out…

  2. Not only did Douglas Adams script edit City of Death — one of Tom Baker’s best, by the way, and so by extension one of the best Doctor Who serials ever — but he also co-wrote it. It’s a great DVD too, lots of fun extras.

    Feel better!

    • usually I never get round to the extras on DVDs. I should be sick more often!
