I didn’t have much published this year, probably because I was concentrating my efforts on novel-length works, so it’s gratifying to read the following paragraph from Last Short Story about my Masques story ‘Seventeen’
"Seventeen," Cat Sparks, Masques – a chilling story of teen homelessness, with the heroine scratching a living playacting a role in an artificial reality. Compelling and creepy, a standout story of the anthology and the year.
Thanks

You sold it there? Fantastic! I love that story 🙂 xxx
Ta! I kinda like it too.
Nice one! And you’ve got a story in an Aussie anthology of winners too? Brilliant.
Coooeee! What the hell are you doing reading blogs when you’re in an EXCITING FOREIGN COUNTRY!!!
I couldn’t sleep!
Fair enough!
yeah, ‘cept for this one really boring story called The Patchwork Palace …
everyone hates that guy…
But do they really know the shy, fragile person behind the bravura? The one who reads romances with Fabio on the cover and thinks “The IT Crowd” is just a little too vulgar for his tastes?
Lordy, that guy sounds even worse!!!
