Lovely postcrds! I’m wondering (if you have the time) if you could give me some advice on a fanfic piece I wrote about 5 years ago. It’s about an Anime that was popular at the time. Here’s the link: http://community.livejournal.com/haibane/52528.html
My main advice is why would anyone want to write fanfic instead of their own characters and stories… ๐ Sorry but I have 2 major deadlines on my plate right now and I don’t have time to crit other people’s stuff. there is a wealth of quality writing advice available free online. Do a bit of Googling but here’s a good place to start: http://www.philipbrewer.net/story-structure-in-short-stories/
Aha! I realise I’m such a tourist at this whole writing caper that I probably used the wrong word to describe what I did. I made up characters who live in the same world as the canon characters and who would have been background incidental characters to the story. The action also happens after the series ended so there’s no interference with canon events.
Is there a word for that? Anyway, I understand what you mean about using your own characters and stories. My imagination is a little low on that side…
Thx for the link. ๐
Cheers,
Dom
yeah, that’s what fanfic is and I was just making a joke about it. LOADS of people write the stuff and enjoy it. Nothing wrong with it but I prefer to invent my own characters.
