The event I’m currently attending in Orlando is called ICFA – 38th International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts. It’s just about the most perfect conference for me: a solid stream of hardcore academic spec fic coupled with long hours of conversational bar time. I found myself quite overwhelmed on the first day, as if I had literally crossed the Facebook threshold and entered a fantasy realm peopled with mythical kings and queens.
