Today is the last day of my holidays — or, more correctly, the five weeks I took off from my graphic design job in order to work on my novels. I did manage to get a bit of leisure time in too. My right arm is emblazoned with something resembling a racing stripe due to haphazardly applied sunscreen prior to yesterday’s cycling expedition.
It’s terribly hot outside. The washing I pegged a couple of hours ago is now baked solid. The cats are flolloped listlessly in shady corners. I’m contemplating a glass of lemonade-laced beer.

Have to leave my car out right now due to builder work, and when I got in it to run an errand — 42.5 degrees. Urrgghhhh!
But it’s cool in my new writing space, where I’ve been plotting out the next book. Phew.
Stay cool! And go you on al the progress.
your cool new writing space sounds cool!
“Flolloped” – love it!
Say what you mean – you’re contemplating a SHANDY!
I ended up contemplating quite a few of them – hic!
I’m trying to only drink on weekends. But right now it’s 36 degrees and I’ve got 6 ice cold Coronas in the fridge and nowhere to go today…
and I’m at work in a very hot, unairconditioned office. I hate you!!!
If it’s any consolation, I don’t have air conditioning either…
but you have beer!
True. It’s like air conditioning on the inside.
