exciting news

So 2010 is definitely looking brighter than 2009

I’m really pleased to announce The Bride Price, a collection of short stories by… ME!  We’re still wrangling the table of contents but I expect it’s going to feature my award winning stories, a few favourites and some new material. Orb Publications is producing the book. Sarah Endacott is a terrific editor — both times I was fortunate enough to be published in Orb magazine the stories ended up with awards or nominations and were reprinted in Years Best Australian Fantasy and Science Fiction volumes.

September’s Aussiecon will also see the launch of collections by Kaaron Warren, Marianne de Pierres and Angela Slatter. I’m so thrilled there’s going to be a collection of Cat Sparks stories too!

  1. That’s sensational news, congrats! Loving all these collections by the girlies coming out. And damn if my shopping list for Aussiecon ain’t already looking ridiculous.

    • Thanks Karen. I reckon I’ll have about the same number of stories in my collection that you have novels on the shelf!

  2. This is super exciting! Aussie women writers rock! Wonderful to see a project from Sarah for Aussiecon, too.

Are you going to do your own cover?

    • Ta! yes I am indeed going to do my own cover. The design is in my head already, just need some time to actually render it.

  3. Congratulations. Look forward to picking it up.

(though, I’m tired of authors signing my books, so I’m asking them to put a bloody hand print on them instead.)

    • Orb Publications – Sarah Endacott editing. She put out Orb magazine for several years.
