Ahhh, I love rainbow lorikeets, reminds me of growing up in Narrabeen, and is the reason I plant grevillias in my garden whenever I move.
Obligatory health warning from your friendly veterinarian: Please wash hands after touching lorikeets and before eating; never kiss your pet budgie; psittacosis is like a really bad flu that lasts for months or kills you if you are immunosuppressed. kthxbai

Someone on tumblr described the Eastern rosella as “a bird made out of Skittles”.
yum!
These are Rainbow Lorikets.
Eastern rosellas are smaller and quieter.
I always get those two muddled up!
Lories are lovely, if noisy, birds. Did they get on your head? that’s a weird feeling.
The flock of 50 or so at Mum and Dad’s place are so tame, they will walk all over you. Especially if you have food.
nope, they stayed out of my hair. I had seed in my hand.
We feed them seed and a special lorikeet nectar mix.

thanks for the tip. Back when I had budgies as a kid, I used to kiss them all the time. Clinically speaking, I should probably be dead by now…
but kissing cats is OK, right? and letting them sleep on your pillow.
If it isn’t, them I’m dead.
Haha, as long as you worm them, you are safe.
Although, with one of my three cats, attempting to worm her could very well result in death for the unwary!
actually, there is something worse, Jason.
yer not wrong there, buddy
But how did they taste???
crunchy!
