In the further course of today’s research I discover a document entitled Basic guidelines for dressing for job interviews. In this helpful document we are advised, amongst other things:For Woman [sic]Don’t have a visible pant line Don’t wear flowery dresses or cardigansDon’t dress as a frump, or wear clothes that are simply out of fashion (note, just because you are over 40, does not mean you have to dress like your grandma, conversely, don’t wear clothes that are inappropriate for your ageif you don’t normally wear makeup, make sure you at least wear lipstick Don’t wear distracting hair ornamentsFor MenDon’t wear t-shirts, leather or suede trousers, inappropriate or vulgar ties, transparent fabrics, a vest under a nylon shirt, or cardigans and sweaters Don’t wear a toupee Don’t have handkerchiefs or pens or pencils in your top pocketAnd both men and woman [sic again] are instructed to shave, either their faces…
