phoning it in… again
Val Kilmer, why do you even bother making movies anymore? Your heart hasn’t been in it since that dreadful Mars flicks some years back — and the rest of your body has been following suit ever since. You were a stunning looking man back in the day. These days you just look kinda lost, wandering from scene to scene like a guy at a conference who’s forgotten which floor the party suite’s on.
Double Identity was a piece of shit, with a pointless storyline half arsedly ripped from North by Northwest. I slid into a coma at the three quarter mark. Even then, the end credits didn’t get rolling fast enough.

Val Kilmer was funny as Dieter Von Cunth in MacGruber. Shame more of that film wasn’t as funny as him.

He was good in Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang — which appears to be the only thing I’ve seen him in since the mid 90s (apart from Bad Lieutenant: New Orleans, in which I don’t really remember him).

I'm not saying the guy *can't* act. It's just that he doesn't bother trying anymore.

Kilmer’s decline does have one interesting side note. Given how much he looked and sounded like Jim Morrison in The Doors, it gives an insight into how Morrison would have declined had he lived. Only Jim would have done it faster.
