Still sick, unfortunately. Woke up at 3am in the throes of a massive coughing fit. Rob and the cats were very tolerant but I am way over this illness business. Thought I’d put in a plug for the above lozenges. They taste utterly disgusting, a mix of compressed bilge water, Sargasso weed and sea serpent droppings but are remarkably effective in quelling the urge to bark like a stranded seal.

Fishermans Friends are awesome, and awful. As is Olive Leaf Extract, but it clears up colds within a day. (Colds, not flu) Hope you get better soon.

Indeed, it is a magical elixir. Makes my leg kick out like a shot of brandy does…very strong taste. But very potent and works a treat.

I feel your pain too! Hasn't some lab-coated smartypants developed a cure for all this illness business yet???

There are a couple of other flavours of Fisherman’s Friend, the mint one is more palatable.

I discovered that about an hour ago up at the chemist in the mall. Am now swigging on some sort of peach flavoured cough suppressant. It could do with a slice of pineapple and a little paper umbrella.

Feel better soon. I feel your cough. I’ve had a chronic cough on and off for ages–it almost went away then came back. Fisherman’s friend will stop a cough dead–I don’t think the mint ones work as well. Suck it up and keep using those
.
I take Olive Leaf extract for colds. I probably should start taking it again regularly once I get home from teaching Clarion west to see if it gets rid of the cough.
