Lately I’ve been run off my feet with various things. Both the day job and the writing require my full attention. Consequently I’ve been cutting back on the social stuff and it looks like the rest of the year might go a little along those lines.
In brief:
My boss continues to mercilessly whup my arse at ping pong. I beat him once last week but it doesn’t count because he was playing left handed (he’s ordinarily right handed and I didn’t even notice he’d switched hands!);
Yes, I know the whole world has branded Clash of the Titans as garbage but Rob and I really enjoyed it. Possibly because we didn’t opt for the 3-D version. Or possibly because we don’t expect historical sword, sorcery, giant monster and heroic costume adventure type movies to contain much other than the items listed;
From the annuls of ‘you know you’re a real writer when…’ I just ditched 100,000 words of a novel and started again. Because I can do it better. I used to read about stuff like that and wonder what sort of wankers would actually pull such a stunt. Well, now I know.

Did you and your boss have a “Then why are you smiling?” “Because I know something you don’t know!” moment? I hope so.

he kept asking if I noticed anything different. Now I think he's kinda worried about my attention to detail as required in the workplace.

100,000 words!? Fuck me. I nearly hasd a stroke once culling 10,000 words and thought that was pretty bloody heroic. Is it really easier to ditch than edit?

I have in the past ditched two entire plays because I wasn’t comfortable seeing them performed by anybody.
