new word of the day
ailuromancy – divination by watching cats’ movements
Hmmm… judging by the movements of my three cats this afternoon… NOTHING SPECIFIC IS LIKELY TO HAPPEN ANY TIME SOON

Oh, and thank you for the new word, and a possibly useful bit of knowledge.

So, no imminent sense of catastrophe or cataclysm, then?
(Sorry, that probably wasn’t helpful…)

Our cat is obviously having an anxiety attack and spends most of her waking hours trying to piss in assorted places. This doesn’t sound like a good omen…

Ailuromancy? Pfah! It is to laugh! Now haruspication: that’s quite the science. Not only do you get a good, reliable look into the future, but you solve your excess cat problem at the same time!

That’s so lolish!
Oh and I was watching this documentary about the rise of man towards civilisation. Man had created villages, domesticated dogs and all that jazz, were storing food which attracted mice which in turn attracted cats from the wild. The way the narrator and historians put it was that “Cats took advantage of humans”.
And cats have been doing that ever since
