Well, bowel cancer is beatable if caught in time. Altzheimers is not beatable at all.

of course, we could spend just a little bit more time in the sun, say 20 mins a day in winter, or 10 mins in summer, naked and unblocked, and vitamin D is for free!

I wonder if this is the actual reason that teenage girls who perceive themselves to be overweight are more likely to be deficient. It strikes me that they would be the most self-conscious and therefore most likely to cover up as much as possible.
