life goes on

As Dad continues his slow road to recovery, I’m finally pausing to catch my breath. Starting to feel normal again, no longer a puppet propelled by volcanic surges of uncontrollable grief. The past few weeks have thrown forth many challenges. In the midst of one of our thrice yearly publishing deadlines, my workplace moved to a new location up the other end of Thirroul. The old premesis was handy to the station and the Beanstalk Cafe but had very little else going in its favour. A former RSL car park, it featured cold cement floors, leaky plumbing and… yeah, that’s about it really. My boss’s band used to practise there after hours. We had to move in the pouring rain while the council jackhammered the street directly outside.

But now we’re in  a lovely old cottage with a pretty garden, a fully functional kitchen and, luxury of luxuries, a proper bathroom! I have a window with a view of blue sky and leafy trees. The walls are painted seaside holiday green. Work hasn’t felt like work at all this week, even though I’m performing the usual tasks.

Is that that place on the corner near the entrance to the Franklins parking lot? Used to be a natural-healing place?

nope. It's just past the little art shop. A yellow wall with tiles inset. Used to be Lazybones B&B

Cool workplace. Glad some things are looking up – patience under pressure isn’t an easy thing to affect. Hang in there.
