Dad: good news!
Dad opened his eyes this afternoon and did his best to smile despite all the plastic tubes coming out of his mouth and nose. He can nod and shake his head when we ask him questions. Fingers crossed those tubes come out tomorrow and we can have proper conversations. His burns are healing very well and it looks like there’s no need for skin grafts or surgery. It was distressing to see him so uncomfortable today, but I couldn’t help but be overjoyed by the fact that we’re getting him back. Healing will take ages but he’s very fit. Even the scar across his face doesn’t look to bad.
