new and shiny

I’ve been doing my darndest not to spend money this year seeing as I’m only working 3 days a week. To show their contempt, evil pixies have been breaking all our stuff! First to go was my laptop, then the food processor (to be fair, that food processor has been angling to commit suicide since a stoned flatmate placed the plastic bowl bit on a live hotplate about 10 years ago and melted its base), then the electric kettle and this morning I killed the weighing scales. They’re now giving me 3 body weights to choose from, whether I’m standing on the fuckers or not… sigh.

The good news is that food processors and kettles don’t seem to cost very much any more. We bought one of each and a brand shiny new Macbook 13". The mere fact of no longer having to write letters on sticky white circles affixed to the keys fills me with joy, not to mention the speedy factor.
