We finally caught up with the 2008 version of The Incredible Hulk on Blu-ray last night. I thought it was pretty damn good, actually. They didn’t bother with the origin story as they know we all know it already. A thinking person’s comic strip adaptation methinks.
Max Payne, on the other hand, was a sack of shit. Is Mark Wahlberg the most uncharasmatic leading man of our time? Yes, I think he just might be.

Ah yes, Max Payne, an appropriate title and unintentionally amusing. That was our viewing before the AAs this year. Marky-Mark was basically walking across the set in order to collect his pay cheque.

he sure was. And it doesn't help that his appearance is so utterly generic in the first place.

Max Payne was extraordinarily dull and forgettable for a movie with so much violence in it.

The latest Hulk wasn’t too bad. I don’t feel any urge to ever see it again though.

The Incredible Hulk has some good actors in it. Edward Norton, Tim Roth, Tim Blake Nelson, but Liv Tyler playing a scientist?

Hey, it's as realistic as Nicole Kidman playing a neurologist in Days of Thunder...opposite Tom Cruise playing a race car driver when he probably couldn't even reach the pedals.

I've seen about 2/3rds of The new/er Hulk film and liked it (the plane landed goddamnit!) and have been meaning to rent the DVD.
