my weekend
I haven’t worked on my novel much since the time off in January, so to remedy this situation I shall be partaking of Donnacon this weekend down Canberra way. What is Donnacon? Well, since you asked… Donna, Kylie, Nicole, Trudi and myself shall be shutting ourselves away in Donna’s house which shall be stocked to the rafters with pizza, chocolate and booze. We shall work on our big fat fantasy novels by day and we shall bitch by night. Hopefully, when we emerge, not only will we be 20 kilos heavier and destined for rehab, one of us shall actually have reworked the rather sucky and underwritten climax to her novel.
Rob has very wisely elected to stay home with the cats. He made mention of that Black Books episode when Fran goes for a weekend away with the girls… No prize for guessing which of us he considers to be the Fran.

Pardon me while I seethe with jealousy. A weekend locked away with nothing to do but write and schmooze? That sounds like more of a vacation than our trip!

I’m doing something similar … sort of. Going to have my own private NaNoWriMo starting next week. Wish I could do it with others though … I’m envious.
