congratulations…

… to all the 2008 World Fantasy Award winners, but a real big extra special congratulations to robshearman  who scored the best collection award for Tiny Deaths. A book I’ve read and would highly recommend.

Go, Rob! Go, Rob! (And he’s such a NICE man. Who writes such very disturbing stories. Not horror, mind you. But disturbing. Furrowed-brow disturbing.)

Good on Rob!

I don’t know why I missed buying Tiny Deaths at Swancon. Oh well, I’ll definitely have to find myself a copy now.

Rob has indeed been enjoying himself – though he’s due to meet me for breakfast in about 8 hours so if he’s still out I’m not sure how much sleep he’ll get.

His speech was moving and funny. He was very surprised to win but got big applause from the Aussie table and the two tables full of Brits.

Tiny Deaths is a great collection and Rob is an important new voice in the field. I’m proud I could play a part bringing him to the attention of the other World Fantasy Award judges.

yeah, and I'll bet it was you who waved that book at the rest of the judging panel too. Nice work, Hogey!

ps I hate you cos you're in Calgary and I'm not.
