Last weekend we took Pazuzu and Nemo to the vet for their shots only to discover that both required a little dental attention. Apparently they’re not doing enough chewing. Too much lobster mornay and not enough bone and gristle in their diet. So this morning Rob and I stuffed them back into travelling cages — no mean feat as both remembered the cages from the week before & knew something suspicious was going down. Nemo nearly sliced Rob’s arm off as we wrestled him, yowling, into the cage. Both cats were sorely shat off because there’d been no breakfast. Kitty dental work requires the kitties to be under general anasthetic for obvious reasons so they weren’t allowed to eat since the night before.

I fretted about them all day as I worked at my computer, knowing how terrified they get when they have to visit the vet. When Rob picked them up this afternoon they were a bit wobbly on their little paws and absolutely ravenous. They’ve been wierd all evening ever since. Not quite sure what to do with themselves. Staring at us oddly for extended periods of time. Sitting, then flopping down, getting back up again, running into the next room, then staring into space. Yeah, they do all that sort of cat business all the time, but tonight it’s been odder than usual.

Smersh has been odd too. He didn’t go anywhere, but he’s picked up on the strange vibe. It’s like he knows there’s a secret that he’s not privy to and he doesn’t like it. or maybe he’s just bummed that he missed out on the drugs.
