The Mist
We watched The Mist last night on dvd.
I gotta say, between the mentally unstable bible thumper, the monsters in the mist and the thing that happens at the very end… now that’s what I call a true horror movie. Nice work, folks.

I liked it too. The ending took me by surprise though, not the original King one.

nope, but I reckon its better than the original King ending. Its far more horrible at any rate.

I caught the previews of this when I bought my copy of Diary of the Dead, and wondered if this would be worth the effort. Thanks for confirming my suspicion.

Definitely agree. It’s on my list of Best Flix viewed in 2998. Hard core but very memorable and well made. And yeah, the ending took guts.

Christ Terry, how far into the future are you living?

King truly understands how low that fence is that sits between civilisation and savagery. That bit in the movie when the protagonists realise they’ll be safer out in the mist with the nameless horrors than cooped up in a supermarket with a bunch of ordinary folks who’ve had the fear of god psyched into them…

I thought it was pretty good, especially the ending, but I would have liked more of a build-up before the monsters actually appeared on screen. I think they played the tentacle card too soon.

you can never play the tentacle card too soon, I say!

I agree. I think it’s a very under-rated movie and does the novella justice. The ending is great as well.
