So I finally got to the end of Moby Dick on audiobook. That’s over 24 hours of listening all up, mostly done in half hour to forty minute sessions. I loved the writing itself but the book was too darn long for my twenty-first century attention span. Should I ever decide to actually *read* it, I’ll be reaching for the abridged version I expect. We watched the 1954 movie last night starring Gregory Peck. I thought Ray Bradbury did a pretty fair job with the screenplay, considering he claimed he could never manage to get more than a few pages into the book itself.
Just got back from seeing The Orphanage at the movies. Stylish and engaging is my verdict. Dropped in on a book fair on the way back to the car. Managed to escape with only four new books including one about Roger Moore’s film and television career. Stylish and engaging is my verdict on him too.

What I really need is a spare head that does nothing but catch up with reading...
