Spooks

So we’re back into watching Spooks again… took a break after one of the characters got killed. I was thinking last night that amongst its many other qualities, Spooks gets major brownie points for the character Ruth Evershed, played by Nicola Walker. Now, there are many interesting female characters on telly these days, but how often do you see someone as interesting as Ruth who is not portrayed as sexy? Ruth isn’t sexy or beautiful. She’s smart and strange and had I been a young person when I first saw this show, she would have made an awesome role model.
