messages from beyond…

So, I’ve been writing all day and I was feeling like I needed a treat so I reached for the tin of St Claire’s organics brand licorice sweets sent to me by Lea as part of our candy exchange program. When I flipped the lid I found this message inside, emblazoned in purple enamel:

“Accept fate, and move on. Don’t yeild to the seductive pull of self-pity. Acting like a victim threatens your future.” Author Unknown.

Well excuuuuse me, Mr St Claire’s organics brand licorice sweets, but you are way off mark with the self-pity speculations. I’ll have you know I am far too arrogant for such time consuming contemplations. Humph!

next time I need lifestyle advice from a tin of candy I’ll mumblemumblemumble…

American Junk-Food Wisdom

The candies are not the only source of true junk-food enlightenment. One day I went into my corner 7-11 for breakfast (Reeses and a Big Gulp of Diet Coke, in case you’re wondering; I am a true American). And there, on the Sprite tap of the tap-your-own-soda machine, was written, “NO SPITE.”

I turned to the nearby person choosing a candy bar and said, “Words to live by.”

guess I have to get you some inidviudal Dove chocolates, they have little peppy homilies on the inside of the wrappers. Sweeter than the candies.
