a day in the country
You know you’re living in a rural area when the sign stickytaped inside the chemist window up the road says ‘has your horse been vaccinated against equine flu?’

I agree with HG Nelson. Bugger Equine Influenza, just let the bugger run a lot slower at the races.
But yeah, country pharmacies… at Echuca on the weekend I watched a whole bunch of tv commercials for large agricultural equipment, 1980s style country discotechs and chemicals to ram down the necks of sheep. It’s another planet out there.

we get awesome rural TV adds here on the local station. Probably the main reason we don't watch live to air TV

Equine flu — has your horse been vaccinated?
Well, duh — of course! The state came in and vaccinated the lot of them on the property where we agist ours. AND microchipped them. Without prior notice, which is a little scary. If they can waltz in and microchip my horse, what’s to stop them from coming by Thirroul Public School one sunny afternoon and microchipping my kid?

I initially read that as ‘has your husband been vaccinated…?’ Lucky for Rob, hey.
If I lived in the Gong, I’d probably have to get a shot for my mo.

I think you should get a shot for your mo anyway. Adelaide is too close for comfort!!!
