beyond kitsch

Those of you who know me well know that I adore and collect items of heinous kitsch from around the world. Last night Nick showed me an item from his own kitsch collection that made my jaw drop. I mean, I thought my Saddam Hussein sterling silver scud missile ‘bomb Israel’ earrings were pretty good, but his Osama twin towers cigarette lighter totally takes the cake. The freaking thing plays Fur Elise when you flip the top. The butane flame is green.

when you flick the lighter, the fire in the twin towers flickers.

I hate Nick. He is always outdoing me with this kinda stuff.
